Ronald J. Martin, O.D.

Dr. Martin originally studied aerospace engineering at the University of Southern California. After more than a decade in the communications satellite industry, he returned to school to study optometry at the University of California, at Berkeley. He earned his Doctorate in Optometry in 1999. After graduation, he gained experience in private practice optometry and ophthalmology offices in the East Bay. He purchased the Vision Health Optometry practice in Petaluma in 2003 and moved his family to Sonoma County.  Almost three years later, Dr. Martin purchased the Vision Health office in Rohnert Park and merged the two locations in 2008. His primary focus is providing quality eye care services to family members of all ages.

Dr. Martin is a member of the California Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the Redwood Empire Optometric Society, and the Optometry Alumni Association of the University of California.

At VisionHealth Optometry our staff is highly experienced and well trained to meet the eyecare needs of each of our patients and to provide the highest quality of service.

Diane

Diane is our front desk manager. She is the first one to greet you with a warm and friendly smile. She schedules appointments, coordinates your insurance coverage, and handles the billing. She strives to make each patient’s visit to our practice an enjoyable experience.

Ruth

Ruth is our office manager and lead optician. She has led our optometric staff for twelve years. Her goal is to always contribute to an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness, and competence. She will help you in your selection of frames and lenses to compliment your style and prescription.

Priss

Priss has more than twenty-three years experience as an optician and has worked with Dr. Martin since 2004. She specializes in patient care and enjoys helping our patients with their eyewear selections. She strives to make you feel welcome and looks forward to your return visits.

Mary

Mary brings over 24 years experience to our optical team and she is a licensed optician in both spectacles and contact lenses. She enjoys the challenge of helping each patient find the perfect pair of eyeglasses. Her greatest joy is spending time with her family and attending her children’s activities.
